While the mosaic technique I use is Roman, my subject matter and artistic style are Celtic, reflecting my love of the Celtic heritage that is inextricably bound to the history of the Welsh people. To the Celtic priests, the Druids, the tree of life was the Oak because of its age and the fact that it was the host for mistletoe, their most sacred plant.
This is my Tree Of Life:
Its roots coming from two different directions to signify the diverse cultures in my family - there are seven acorns to celebrate the precious lives of each one of our children with the acorn child pointing towards its own unique and individual
pathway for life and death. This Oak tree is joyous, vibrant, colourful and has immense strength and power, this is
my Tree of Life.
